Massey Ferguson 13.02.19 – TRANS1: Brake System Pressure Too High Dyna VT (TRANS1)
Issue description
The system has detected that the hydraulic or pneumatic pressure in the braking system (often the ParkLock or trailer brake circuit) has exceeded the maximum safe threshold (typically reading greater than 230 bar / 3336 psi). This can be caused by a genuine overpressure condition (such as a blocked return line or faulty pressure relief valve), a short circuit in the sensor wiring, or a failed brake pressure sensor sending a false high-voltage signal.

Check the cause
Verify Actual Pressure: Before replacing electronic components, connect a mechanical pressure gauge to the brake system test port. Compare the mechanical reading to the sensor reading on the tractor's diagnostic screen. If the mechanical pressure is normal but the sensor reads high, the sensor or wiring is at fault.
Inspect Couplers: Check the condition of the air/hydraulic connection couplers at the rear of the tractor (if hooked to an implement). A blocked trailer brake line can cause pressure spikes.
Wiring & Voltage Check: Inspect the wiring harness leading to the brake pressure sensor. The sensor operates on a 5V reference circuit. Check for a short to power (which would cause the sensor to output a falsely high voltage, triggering the 'Pressure Too High' code). The signal voltage should normally be between 1V and 5V.
Tractor Mother Regs (TMR) Calibration: On newer models (post-2018), trailer brake pressures are strictly regulated. If the tractor was recently serviced or an implement was changed, the brake pressure parameters may simply need to be recalibrated/reset by a dealer using the AGCO diagnostic tool.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the engine and pump the brake pedals repeatedly to relieve all residual hydraulic/pneumatic pressure in the braking circuit. Ensure the ParkLock is safely engaged or the tractor is chocked.
Locate the Sensor
The sensor is typically threaded into the brake valve block or the air supply line for the trailer brakes (location varies slightly by series, often accessed near the right-hand side of the transmission housing or rear remote valve stack).
Disconnect Wiring
Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the pressure sensor. Inspect the connector pins for corrosion or hydraulic fluid ingress.
Remove the Sensor
Using a wrench, unthread the faulty pressure sensor from the valve block. Have a rag ready to catch any residual fluid drips.
Install the New Sensor
Thread the new OEM sensor into the port. Tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque (do not overtighten, as this can damage the sensor diaphragm).
Reassemble and Test
Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor, allow the system to build pressure, and check for leaks. Test the foot brakes and ParkLock to ensure the 13.02.19 fault code clears from the dash.
