Massey Ferguson 13.02.2E – TRANS1: Park Brake System Pressure Issue Dyna VT

The transmission control system has detected an irregularity in the hydraulic pressure within the park brake circuit. The system is either seeing pressure when it should be dropped (brake applied) or the pressure is too high/low when the brake is released, pointing to a failure in the pressure sensor, the solenoid controlling the circuit, or a physical hydraulic issue.

   Check the Handbrake Pressure Sensor (Transducer) to verify it is reading correctly. A failed sensor will send an out-of-range signal.

   Inspect the Park Brake Solenoid for open circuits, short circuits to earth (-), or short circuits to +12V.

   Check the Handbrake Switch in the cab to ensure it is operating correctly and sending the proper engagement/disengagement signal.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the TRANS1 module, the pressure sensor, and the solenoid for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Monitor live data

   Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor and monitor the live data for the park brake pressure sensor to see if the reading fluctuates or is stuck at a default value.

   Inspect sensor connector

   Locate the handbrake pressure sensor on the transmission valve block. Disconnect the plug and check for oil ingress or corroded pins. Clean if necessary.

   Replace pressure sensor

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor reading is erratic, replace the handbrake pressure sensor.

   Locate park brake solenoid

   If the sensor is functioning properly but the actual hydraulic pressure is incorrect, locate the park brake solenoid.

   Inspect solenoid

   Remove the solenoid and inspect it for mechanical binding, debris, or damaged O-rings.

   Test and replace solenoid

   Test the solenoid coil resistance. If it fails, replace the solenoid.

   Reassemble and test

   Reassemble the components, clear the fault codes from the TRANS1 module, and cycle the park brake while the engine is running to ensure the code does not return.
