Massey Ferguson 13.02.2F – TRANS1: Issue With Park Lock Proximity Switch On The Axle Dyna VT (TRANS1)

Signal failure or irregularity with the proximity switch responsible for monitoring the mechanical park lock mechanism on the axle. The controller is either seeing an open circuit, a short circuit, or an implausible signal.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the park lock proximity switch on the axle for chafed wires, broken insulation, or damage from field debris.

   Unplug the sensor and check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion inside the connector.

   Ensure there is no heavy mud, metallic debris, or physical damage to the axle housing preventing the switch from reading the park lock collar/gear.

   Using a multimeter, verify that the sensor is receiving the correct reference voltage and ground from the TRANS1 module.

   Using an AGCO diagnostic tool (or back-probing the signal wire with a multimeter), manually engage and disengage the park lock to see if the switch toggles its voltage state. If the voltage remains static, the switch is likely dead.

   Locate the Sensor

   Ensure the tractor is parked on level ground and the wheels are securely chocked before beginning work. Locate the park lock proximity switch on the transmission/axle housing.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the switch.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the switch base with brake cleaner and compressed air to prevent dirt from falling into the axle housing when the sensor is removed.

   Remove the Switch

   Unthread the faulty proximity switch from the housing.

   Install the New Switch

   Thread the new proximity switch into the housing. Crucial Step: If the switch is an adjustable threaded type, it must be set to the exact depth/air gap specified in the OEM service manual to prevent it from being crushed by internal moving parts or being too far away to read the lock.

   Reconnect and Clear

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn the key on, connect your diagnostic tool, and clear the 13.02.2F fault code.

   Test

   Engage and disengage the park lock several times to ensure the code does not return and the dashboard registers the park lock status correctly.
