Massey Ferguson 13.02.43 – HITCH: Park Brake Activated Solenoid High Amp Draw Dyna 6 (HITCH)
Issue description
The electronic control system has detected an abnormally high electrical current (amperage) being drawn by the solenoid responsible for activating the park brake. A "High Amp Draw" typically points to a short circuit in the system—most commonly an internal short within the solenoid coil itself, or a short-to-ground in the wiring harness leading to the solenoid.

Check the cause
Trace the wiring from the park brake solenoid back to the HITCH controller, looking for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or areas shorting to ground.
Disconnect the plug at the park brake solenoid and inspect the pins for melting, corrosion, or water ingress.
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the park brake activated solenoid coil (near zero ohms indicates an internal short).
Repair steps
Secure the Tractor
Park the tractor on flat, level ground and securely chock the wheels to prevent the tractor from rolling.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the transmission solenoid bank on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission housing and identify the specific solenoid responsible for park brake activation.
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty park brake solenoid.
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic checks revealed a short in the wiring harness, splice and repair the damaged wires using heat-shrink connectors, or replace the affected harness section.
Replace the Solenoid Coil
If the solenoid coil is internally shorted, remove the retaining nut or clip that secures the coil to the hydraulic valve stem. Slide the old coil off and slide the new replacement coil on. Secure it with the retaining nut.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the electrical plug. Turn on the tractor and use the onboard diagnostic screen or a dealer service tool to clear the 13.02.43 fault code.
Test Operation
Engage and disengage the park brake multiple times to ensure the code does not return and the brake functions mechanically.
