Massey Ferguson 13.02.47 – HITCH Controller / ParkLock ECU: Park Brake Switch Not Closing When Park Brake Disengaged Dyna 6 (HITCH)

The electronic control system expects the park brake switch circuit to close when the operator disengages the parking brake. This fault is logged when the controller detects an open circuit (or lack of voltage return) while the brake is mechanically disengaged, indicating a failure in the switch, a broken wire, or a mechanical misalignment preventing the switch from fully actuating.

   Perform a mechanical inspection of the park brake lever/shuttle lever area for dirt, debris, or physical obstruction preventing the lever from fully resting in the disengaged position.

   Disconnect the park brake switch and perform a continuity test. It should show a closed circuit when disengaged and an open circuit when engaged.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the switch and the HITCH controller for chafed wires, broken connections, or corrosion at the connector pins.

   Verify that the switch is receiving the correct reference voltage from the controller when the key is ON.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, remove the key, and chock the wheels (since you will be working on the parking brake system).

   Access the Switch

   Locate the park brake switch. Depending on the cab layout, this is typically located at the base of the park brake lever or integrated into the left-hand PowerShuttle lever assembly on the steering column. You may need to remove plastic trim panels to access it.

   Disconnect and Remove

   Unplug the electrical connector from the switch. Unbolt or unclip the switch from its mounting bracket.

   Install the New Switch

   Mount the replacement switch in the exact orientation as the old one.

   Adjust (If Applicable)

   Some switches require physical adjustment. Ensure the lever fully depresses the switch plunger when the brake is disengaged.

   Plug the electrical connector back in and reinstall any interior trim panels.
