Massey Ferguson 13.03.38 – TRANS1: Issue With Emergency Steering Pressure Dyna VT (TRANS1)

The transmission controller has detected an anomaly in the hydraulic pressure circuit dedicated to the emergency steering system. This could be caused by a genuine loss of hydraulic pressure in the emergency steering circuit, a faulty pressure switch/sensor, or a wiring issue.

   Verify transmission/hydraulic oil level and ensure the hydraulic filters are not clogged, as starvation can cause pressure drops.

   Locate the emergency steering pressure switch (typically mounted on the steering priority valve block or the transmission hydraulic manifold) and inspect the wiring harness and connector for chafing, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Use a multimeter to check for continuity or proper voltage scaling at the sensor.

   Plumb a manual hydraulic pressure gauge into the emergency steering test port to verify if the system is actually failing to produce pressure, or if the sensor is simply sending a false reading to the TRANS1 module.

   Ensure the tractor is parked on a level surface, the engine is off, and the parking brake is engaged.

   Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the steering and transmission circuits by turning the steering wheel back and forth a few times with the engine off.

   Locate the emergency steering pressure switch on the hydraulic valve block.

   Clean the area around the sensor to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor.

   Have a shop rag ready to catch minor oil seepage.
