Massey Ferguson 13.03.47 – HITCH: Park Brake Switch Not Closing When Park Brake Disengaged Dyna 6 (HITCH)
Issue description
The electronic control system is detecting a mismatch between the physical state of the parking brake and the electrical signal from the park brake switch. When the operator disengages the park brake, the switch is supposed to close the electrical circuit. If the circuit remains open (due to a faulty switch, broken wire, or mechanical misalignment), the controller logs this fault.

Check the cause
Verify that the park brake lever and linkage are moving freely and fully disengaging (debris or lack of lubrication can prevent the mechanism from physically pressing the switch).
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the park brake switch for chafed wires, broken connections, or heavy corrosion inside the connector plug.
Disconnect the switch and test for continuity using a multimeter (the switch should show a closed circuit when the brake is disengaged, and an open circuit when engaged).
Check the wiring between the switch connector and the HITCH module for an open circuit or a short to ground if the switch tests fine.
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Turn off the engine, remove the key, and securely chock the wheels since you will be working on the parking brake system.
Locate the Switch
Locate the park brake switch, which is typically mounted on the park brake lever assembly inside the cab console or directly on the transmission linkage (depending on the specific cab layout).
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical weather-pack connector from the switch.
Remove
Unbolt or unthread the faulty switch from its mounting bracket.
Install
Install the new park brake switch. Note: Some switches require physical adjustment (threading in or out) so that the plunger is depressed to the correct depth when the lever is moved.
Reconnect & Clear
Plug the electrical connector back in. Turn on the tractor and use the onboard dashboard diagnostic menu (or a dealer service tool) to clear the inactive 13.03.47 fault code.
Test
Engage and disengage the park brake several times to ensure the dashboard indicator responds correctly and the code does not return.
