Massey Ferguson 13.X.19 – TRANS1: Brake System Pressure Too High Dyna VT
Issue description
The transmission control system has detected that the hydraulic pressure in the brake circuit (often the handbrake or trailer brake circuit) has exceeded the maximum allowable threshold. This can be caused by a faulty pressure sensor reading incorrectly, a stuck brake solenoid valve, or an actual hydraulic overpressure condition.

Check the cause
Verify the Sensor Reading: Use a manual hydraulic pressure gauge on the brake circuit test port to determine if the pressure is actually too high, or if the sensor is sending a false signal to the TRANS1 module.
Inspect the Sensor and Wiring: Check the Handbrake/Trailer Brake Pressure Sensor and its electrical connector. Look for rubbed wiring, corrosion in the plug, or a short-to-power that could cause the sensor signal to spike out of range.
Check the Brake Solenoid Valve: Inspect the brake solenoid valve (and cardan brake valve, if equipped) to ensure it is not mechanically stuck in the closed/pressurized position. Check the coil resistance on the solenoid.
Review Associated Codes: Check the dashboard or diagnostic tool for related codes, such as 13.00.2D (Brake System Pressure Signal Issue) or 13.00.18 (Brake System Pressure Not Dropped When Brake Applied), which can help isolate a sensor failure versus a mechanical valve failure.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and actuate the brake pedals and handbrake to relieve residual hydraulic pressure in the circuit before opening any lines.
Locate the Faulty Component
Based on your diagnostics, locate either the brake pressure sensor or the brake solenoid valve on the transmission valve block.
Disconnect Electrical Harness
Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the sensor or solenoid valve.
Remove the Component
Unthread the pressure sensor or unbolt the solenoid valve from the hydraulic block. Have a rag ready to catch minor hydraulic fluid spills.
Install the New Part
Thread in the new OEM pressure sensor or install the new solenoid valve. Torque to the manufacturer's specifications.
Reconnect and Bleed
Reconnect the electrical harness. If replacing a major valve, you may need to bleed the brake circuit according to the service manual.
Clear Codes and Test
Turn the key on, use the tractor's diagnostic interface to clear the 13.00.19 fault code from the TRANS1 module, and start the tractor. Test the handbrake and foot brakes to ensure the code does not return and the system operates smoothly.
