Massey Ferguson 13.X.44 – Hitch Control Unit: Park Brake Activated Solenoid Low Amp Draw Dyna 6 (HITCH)
Issue description
The control module has detected that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the park brake activation solenoid circuit is below the minimum expected threshold when the solenoid is commanded ON. A "Low Amp Draw" typically indicates an open circuit. This is most commonly caused by a broken wire, a disconnected or corroded harness connector, or a burnt-out (open) solenoid coil.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the park brake solenoid on the transmission/hydraulic valve block for chafed wires, broken connections, or loose pins.
Disconnect the solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or corrosion inside the connector terminals.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the park brake solenoid coil. If the reading is OL (open loop) or unusually high, the coil has failed internally.
With the park brake commanded on (ensure the machine is safely chocked), check for proper battery voltage at the harness connector and verify the ground circuit has good continuity back to the chassis/module.
Repair steps
Safety First
Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Chock the wheels securely, as you will be working on and potentially disabling the park brake system during the repair.
Locate the Solenoid
Identify the park brake activation solenoid on the transmission/hydraulic control valve block.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the solenoid.
Remove Coil
Remove the retaining nut or clip holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem. Slide the old coil off. (Note: If the entire electrovalve cartridge is faulty and not just the coil, the hydraulic system must be depressurized before unscrewing the valve cartridge).
Install New Part
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and locks securely.
Test
Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool or the tractor's onboard display. Engage and disengage the park brake to verify proper operation and ensure the code does not return.
