Massey Ferguson 13.X.45 – HITCH: Park Brake Activated Solenoid Voltage Issue Dyna 6 (HITCH)

An electrical fault—such as an open circuit, short circuit, or out-of-range voltage—detected in the circuit of the solenoid responsible for activating the parking brake on the Dyna 6 transmission.

   Check battery and alternator to ensure the 12V system is fully charged and outputting correct voltage, as low voltage can trigger false solenoid codes.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission's brake block solenoids for rubbed wires, broken connections, or corrosion at the terminals.

   Disconnect the park brake solenoid and use a multimeter to check for continuity and proper voltage supply from the HITCH module to the connector.

   Test the solenoid coil itself for an open or shorted internal resistance.

   Verify the park brake engagement switch is functioning properly, as switch failures can cause voltage/activation codes.

   Locate the Solenoid

   The park brake solenoid is located on the transmission brake block/valve body on the side of the Dyna 6 transmission.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the brake block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system when the solenoid is removed.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty park brake solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Unbolt the retaining hardware holding the solenoid (or solenoid kit) to the transmission block and carefully extract it.

   Install the New Part

   Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid with clean transmission/hydraulic fluid. Insert it into the block and torque the retaining bolts to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Turn on the tractor and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 13.02.45 fault code from the HITCH module.

   Test Operation

   Engage and disengage the park brake several times to ensure the transmission holds and releases properly without throwing the code again.
