Massey Ferguson 1381.03 – Engine ECU: Fuel Pressure At The Inlet Of The High Pressure Pump Signal Voltage Issue

The sensor's signal voltage is above normal or there is an open circuit. The controller is receiving a voltage reading that exceeds the expected operating range, preventing it from accurately monitoring the low-pressure fuel supply feeding into the high-pressure injection pump.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the fuel pressure sensor (located near the inlet of the high-pressure pump) for damage, corrosion, or loose pins that could cause an open circuit.

   Live Data Monitoring: Use an OBD2 scanner or dealer diagnostic tool to read the live voltage data from the fuel supply pump inlet pressure sensor. Check if the voltage is pegged high or drops out when the wiring harness is wiggled.

   Filter Check: Ensure the primary fuel filters are not severely clogged, as extreme fuel starvation can sometimes cause erratic sensor behavior.

   Safety First

   Turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Relieve the fuel system pressure according to the service manual safety procedures before opening the system.

   Locate the Sensor

   Find the fuel pressure sensor, which is typically mounted on the low-pressure supply line or directly at the inlet of the high-pressure fuel pump.

   Disconnect

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the sensor.

   Remove the Sensor

   Use an appropriately sized socket wrench to unscrew and remove the faulty sensor from its mounting point.

   Install the New Part

   Thread the new Genuine AGCO fuel pressure sensor into place and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

   Clear Codes and Reset

   Use a diagnostic scanner to clear the 001381.03 fault code from the Engine ECU. If required by your specific model, perform a fuel system adaptive learning/reset procedure so the ECU can calibrate to the new sensor.

   Test

   Start the tractor, check the sensor fitting for any fuel leaks, and verify that the engine code does not return.
