Massey Ferguson 14.00.06 – TRANS1: High Pressure Brake System Charging Too Often DYNA 6 (TRANS1)
Issue description
This code indicates that the tractor's high-pressure hydraulic brake circuit is losing pressure faster than normal, forcing the system's hydraulic pump and brake accumulator to recharge the circuit at an abnormally high frequency. This condition is typically caused by a loss of nitrogen pre-charge in the brake accumulator, an internal hydraulic leak within the brake valve or wet brake assemblies, or a faulty brake pressure sensor sending erratic voltage readings to the controller.

Check the cause
Check for external leaks: Inspect the brake valve, hydraulic lines, and accumulator connections for visible fluid leaks.
Test the brake accumulator (most common cause): Check for a ruptured diaphragm or depleted nitrogen charge, which prevents the accumulator from storing pressurized fluid and causes the pump to cycle constantly.
Inspect brake pressure sensors: Check the wiring harness and test the voltage of the brake pressure sensors to ensure they are not falsely reporting pressure drops.
Check wet brake wear: Inspect hydraulic filters for fibrous brake material contamination. Excessive internal brake disc wear increases piston travel, requiring more fluid volume and triggering frequent charging.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor engine. Pump the brake pedals repeatedly until they feel completely firm/hard to safely discharge all stored hydraulic pressure from the accumulator.
Replace the Accumulator (if faulty)
Locate the high-pressure brake accumulator. Unscrew the old unit and install the replacement accumulator. Note: Replacement accumulators are shipped fully discharged of nitrogen for freight safety and must be pre-charged with nitrogen to the OEM specification using specialized equipment before installation.
Replace the Sensor (if faulty)
If diagnostics point to the sensor, disconnect the electrical harness, unthread the old pressure sensor, and install the new one.
Bleed the Brakes
Bleed the brake hydraulic circuit to remove any trapped air introduced during the component swap.
Clear Codes
Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor, clear the 14.00.06 code from the TRANS1 module, and test drive the tractor to ensure the pump cycling returns to normal intervals.
