Massey Ferguson 14.02.03 – TRANS1: High Pressure Brake System Pressure Too High DYNA 6 (TRANS1)
Issue description
The tractor's electronic control system has detected that the hydraulic pressure within the high-pressure braking circuit has exceeded the maximum safe operating threshold. This condition is typically caused by an electrical/sensor failure (such as a short circuit) or a mechanical hydraulic failure (such as a stuck regulating valve or overcharging accumulator).

Check the cause
Verify actual pressure: Connect a mechanical hydraulic pressure gauge to the test port on the high-pressure brake valve block. Compare the mechanical gauge reading to the live data reading on the diagnostic screen. If the mechanical gauge shows normal pressure but the sensor reads high, the sensor or wiring is faulty. If the mechanical gauge shows abnormally high pressure, the issue is mechanical (e.g., stuck pressure regulating valve).
Inspect wiring and connectors: Locate the brake pressure sensor, disconnect the pigtail, and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or damage. Use a multimeter to check the sensor wiring harness for a short to voltage.
Check the brake accumulator: Ensure the brake accumulator is functioning correctly and has not lost its nitrogen charge, which can cause erratic pressure spikes and rapid charging cycles.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Park the tractor on a flat surface, turn off the engine, and pump the brake pedals 10–15 times until they feel completely firm. This relieves the stored hydraulic pressure in the brake accumulators.
Locate the Sensor
Locate the high-pressure brake sensor, which is typically threaded into the main brake valve block near the transmission housing/rear axle.
Remove the Sensor
Disconnect the electrical harness. Using the appropriate wrench, carefully unthread the old sensor. Have a rag ready, as a small amount of residual hydraulic fluid may leak out.
Install the New Sensor
Thread the new OEM pressure sensor into the valve block. Tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque (do not overtighten, as this can damage the sensor diaphragm).
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor and allow the hydraulic system to build pressure. Check the sensor fitting for leaks.
Clear Codes
Use the tractor's onboard diagnostic menu or a dealer diagnostic tool to clear the 14.02.03 fault code. Test drive the tractor and apply the brakes several times to ensure the code does not return.
