Check the cause

  1. Check the Brake Pressure Sensor: Inspect the sensor for high voltage, open circuits, or short circuits. The TRANS1 module relies on this sensor to monitor pressure; a faulty sensor can falsely report high pressure.

  2. Monitor System Charging: Check if the high-pressure brake system is charging too often (which can trigger related codes like 14.X.06).

  3. Inspect the Master Cylinder and Linkage: Check the brake pull rod and ensure it is returning fully to its resting position. A sticking rod can cause pressure to build up.

  4. Check Fluid Type and Condition: Verify that the system is filled with the correct LHM hydraulic fluid. Using standard automotive brake fluid will destroy the seals and cause pressure/braking malfunctions.

  5. Inspect Wiring Harness: Check the wiring harness and connectors between the brake pressure sensor and the TRANS1 module for corrosion or damage.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

    Before opening any lines, ensure the tractor is off and the high-pressure brake system is safely depressurized.

  2. Replace the Sensor

    If diagnostics point to a failed sensor, locate the trailer/air supply brake pressure sensor on the brake valve block. Disconnect the electrical harness, unthread the old sensor, and install the new one using a new copper crush washer.

  3. Inspect/Replace the Master Cylinder

    If the master cylinder is failing to release pressure, remove the brake lines and unbolt the cylinder from the pedal linkage. Install the new master cylinder.

  4. Bleed the Brake System

    After replacing any hydraulic components, you must thoroughly bleed the entire brake system to remove all air bubbles. Start with the wheel cylinder farthest from the master cylinder and work your way inward.

  5. Refill Fluid

    Ensure the system is topped off exclusively with LHM hydraulic fluid.

  6. Clear Codes

    Use the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the 14.X.05 fault code from the TRANS1 module and test drive the tractor to ensure the pressure normalizes.
