Massey Ferguson 1B.00.05 – Linkage/PTO/Light Module: Internal Issue With The Linkage/PTO/Light Module On The B-Pillar

Issue description

This code indicates that the electronic control module located on the right-hand B-pillar of the cab—which manages the rear linkage (ELC), Power Take-Off (PTO), and working lights—has detected an internal hardware or software failure.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the tractor's system voltage is stable, as low voltage or voltage spikes can cause control modules to log false internal memory or processor errors.

  2. Inspect the right-hand B-pillar area for signs of water ingress (e.g., from an open window or damaged door seal).

  3. Remove the B-pillar trim and inspect the multi-pin connectors plugging into the Linkage/PTO/Light module for corroded pins, loose grounds, or damaged wires.

  4. Attempt to clear the code using an AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT). If the code returns immediately upon key-on, the module has suffered a permanent internal failure.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts or CAN bus spikes during removal.

  2. Remove B-Pillar Trim

Carefully pry away or unbolt the interior plastic trim panels on the right-hand B-pillar to expose the electronic modules and wiring harnesses.

  3. Extract the Module

Locate the Linkage/PTO/Light Module (usually mounted directly behind the B-pillar switch panel). Remove the retaining screws or mounting clips holding the module to the cab frame.

  4. Disconnect Wiring

Carefully unplug the LIN/CAN bus and power connectors from the module.

  5. Install Replacement

Connect the wiring harnesses to the new OEM module and secure it to the B-pillar mounting bracket.

  6. Reassemble

Reinstall the B-pillar interior trim panels.

  7. Reconnect Power

    Reconnect the negative battery cable.

  8. Module Configuration

Because this module communicates on the CAN/LIN bus network, the new module will likely need to be calibrated or configured to the tractor's specific trim level (e.g., Essential vs. Efficient/Exclusive) using the AGCO EDT software so the main ECU recognizes it.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Linkage/PTO/Light Control Module (or B-Pillar Switch Module)

Varies heavily by exact model and cab trim level (Essential, Efficient, or Exclusive). Must source the exact AGCO part number by providing the tractor's VIN/Serial Number. Do not install a used module from a tractor with a different transmission or hydraulic specification.
