Massey Ferguson 1B.01.05 – Linkage/PTO/Light Module: Internal Issue With The Linkage/PTO/Light Module On The B-Pillar

Issue description

Check the cause

  1. Verify the tractor's battery and alternator voltage, as voltage spikes or severe drops can cause false internal error codes.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the right-hand B-pillar for loose connector pins, moisture ingress, or chafed wires.

  3. Check for accompanying codes 1B.01.04 (LIN BUS) or 1B.01.06 (CAN BUS), which indicate a broken communication wire rather than a dead module.

  4. Clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool; if 1B.01.05 returns immediately upon key-on, the module has suffered a hard internal failure and must be replaced.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or data corruption during removal.

  2. Access the Module

Remove the interior plastic trim panel on the right-hand B-pillar to expose the Linkage/PTO/Light switch module.

  3. Removal

Carefully unplug the LIN/CAN and power connectors from the back of the module. Unclip or unbolt the module from its mounting bracket.

  4. Installation

Seat the new OEM module into the B-pillar bracket and securely reconnect the wiring harnesses.

  5. Reassembly

Reinstall the B-pillar trim panel and reconnect the battery.

  6. Configuration/Calibration

Connect the Massey Ferguson dealer diagnostic tool (WinTest / EDT). The new module will likely require software configuration.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Linkage/PTO/Light Control Module

Varies heavily by exact model and cab trim level (Essential, Efficient, or Exclusive). Must be sourced directly through an AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts dealer using the tractor's specific VIN/Serial Number.
