Check the cause
Check for accompanying communication codes (e.g., 1B.00.04, 1B.00.05, or 1B.00.06) which indicate a wiring fault rather than just a configuration error
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the right-hand B-Pillar module for damage, corrosion, or loose pins
Attempt to re-flash or rewrite the configuration data to the Linkage/PTO/Light Module using the Massey Ferguson Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) before replacing hardware
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic tool
Connect the Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool (EDT) to the tractor's diagnostic port.
Read fault codes
Read all active and stored fault codes to confirm 1B.02.01.
Attempt configuration push
Attempt to clear the code and push the correct configuration file to the B-Pillar module using the diagnostic software.
Evaluate module replacement
If the configuration fails to store (or if code 1B.02.02 'Issue When Storing Configuration' appears), the module's internal memory is likely failed and the unit must be replaced.
Power down
Power down the tractor and disconnect the battery.
Access module
Carefully pry or unbolt the interior trim panel on the right-hand B-Pillar to access the module assembly.
Disconnect wiring
Disconnect the electrical harness connectors from the back of the Linkage/PTO/Light Module.
Replace module
Unclip or unbolt the faulty module from the pillar housing and install the replacement module.
Reassemble components
Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the B-Pillar trim, and reconnect the battery.
Program new module
Turn the ignition on and use the diagnostic tool to program/configure the new module to the tractor's specific build options (e.g., PTO speeds, linkage type, lighting setup).
Verify repair
Test the PTO engagement, linkage lift/lower, and B-Pillar light switches to verify the repair.
Parts you might need
(1)B-Pillar Linkage/PTO/Light Control Module
Must be sourced via the AGCO parts catalog using the tractor's specific VIN/Serial Number.
