Massey Ferguson 1B.02.02 – Linkage/PTO/Light Module: Issue When Storing Configuration In The Linkage/PTO/Light Module On The B-Pillar

Issue description

The module is failing to save user settings, operational states, or calibration data to its internal memory (EEPROM). This typically happens if there is an internal memory failure within the module, or if the module loses power too quickly during the key-off cycle before it can finish writing the configuration data.

Check the cause

  1. Check for companion codes (e.g., 1B.00.04 or 1B.00.06) which may indicate a wiring or communication issue rather than a module failure.

  2. Verify battery voltage and inspect the specific fuses powering the B-pillar module to ensure no severe voltage drops occur during the key-off cycle.

  3. Remove the right-hand B-pillar trim and inspect the wiring harness connectors at the module for corrosion, backed-out pins, or moisture.

  4. Have a dealer check for available software updates via the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) that might resolve memory storage bugs.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect the tractor's negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Carefully pry or unscrew the interior trim panels on the right-hand cab B-pillar to expose the control modules.

  3. Locate the Linkage/PTO/Light Module (the keypad/module assembly).

  4. Disconnect the electrical harness connectors from the rear of the module.

  5. Remove the retaining screws holding the module to the pillar bracket and remove the faulty unit.

  6. Install the new module and secure it with the retaining screws.

  7. Reconnect the electrical harness and reinstall the B-pillar trim.

  8. Reconnect the battery.

  9. Program/calibrate the new module using the AGCO EDT software to configure it to the specific tractor's options.

This matches the exact PTO and linkage setup.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Linkage/PTO/Light Module (Right-Hand B-Pillar Control Keypad)

When ordering through an AGCO/Massey Ferguson dealer, you must provide the tractor's VIN/Serial Number, as the button layout and internal software differ based on whether the tractor is equipped with specific hydraulic valves, Auto PTO, or specific lighting packages.
