Check the cause

  1. Cycle Power & Clear Codes: Turn the battery disconnect switch off for 5 minutes to perform a hard reset. Turn it back on and see if the code transitions from active to stored.

  2. Check Power and Ground: Verify that the module is receiving stable 12V power and has a clean ground.

  3. Inspect the B-Pillar Harness: Remove the B-pillar cover and inspect the wiring harness connecting to the module. Look for pinched wires, moisture intrusion, or loose connector pins.

  4. Software Update: Check with an OEM dealer diagnostic tool (EDT) to see if there is a firmware update available for the B-Pillar module that addresses false internal fault flags.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the main battery switch to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Remove B-Pillar Trim

Carefully pry or unscrew the right-hand B-pillar plastic cladding/cover to expose the rear of the control modules.

  3. Disconnect the Module

Unplug the main electrical harness connectors (CAN/LIN and power connections) from the back of the Linkage/PTO/Light Module.

  4. Remove the Module

Remove the retaining screws or release the plastic retaining clips holding the module to the B-pillar frame.

  5. Install the New Module

Seat the new module into the pillar and secure it. Reconnect the wiring harness.

  6. Reassemble

    Reinstall the B-pillar trim panel.

  7. Configuration/Calibration

Reconnect the battery. You will likely need a Massey Ferguson dealer diagnostic tool to configure the new module to match the tractor's specific PTO and linkage options.

Parts you might need
