Check the cause

  1. Check for Related Codes: Look for accompanying codes such as 1B.03.04 (LIN BUS Communication Between Linkage/PTO/Light Module And The B-Pillar Button Panel) or 1B.01.05 (Internal Issue With The Linkage/PTO/Light Module). If communication codes are present, the issue might be a wiring fault rather than a module failure.

  2. Wiring and Connections: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the B-Pillar module for corrosion, loose pins, or damage.

  3. Software/Configuration Reset: Because the code specifically states an 'Issue With Configuration Stored,' a dealer technician should connect the Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool (EDT) to attempt a software re-flash or to push the correct configuration file back into the module.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or spikes.

  2. Locate module

Locate the right-hand B-Pillar inside the cab (where the PTO and linkage controls are housed).

  3. Remove trim panels

Carefully remove the B-Pillar interior trim panels/covers to expose the Linkage/PTO/Light Module.

  4. Disconnect wiring

Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the module.

  5. Remove module

Unbolt and remove the faulty module.

  6. Install new module

Install the new module and reconnect the wiring harnesses.

  7. Reinstall trim panels

    Reinstall the B-Pillar trim panels.

  8. Reconnect battery

    Reconnect the battery.

  9. Program module

Crucial Step: The new module will be blank or have a default configuration. A dealer diagnostic tool must be used to program the module with the correct configuration for your specific tractor's options (PTO speeds, linkage type, lighting package) to clear the 1B.03.01 code.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Linkage/PTO/Light Control Module (B-Pillar Electronic Module)

    4282981M2

Example part number. Always order this module using the tractor's VIN/Serial Number through an authorized AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts dealer, as the hardware must match the factory options to accept the correct configuration file.

  • Linkage/PTO/Light Control Module (B-Pillar Electronic Module)

    4277894M1

Example part number. Always order this module using the tractor's VIN/Serial Number through an authorized AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts dealer, as the hardware must match the factory options to accept the correct configuration file.
