Massey Ferguson 1B.X.02 – Linkage/PTO/Light Module: Issue When Storing Configuration In The Linkage/PTO/Light Module On The B-Pillar

The module is failing to write or retain its configuration parameters in its internal non-volatile memory (EEPROM/Flash). This typically occurs due to a software glitch, a sudden voltage drop while the module is attempting to save data, or a physical hardware failure of the memory chip inside the module.

   Check battery and charging system for stable voltage, as a severe voltage drop during a key-off cycle can interrupt the memory-saving process

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the B-Pillar module for loose pins, corrosion, or chafed wires causing intermittent power loss

   Check for related LIN BUS communication codes (e.g., 1B.00.04) which may indicate a wiring fault rather than a module failure

   Attempt a software flash and reconfiguration using the Massey Ferguson Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to see if the module will accept and retain the configuration after a key cycle

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts or CAN bus spikes during removal.

   Remove B-Pillar Trim

   Carefully pry or unbolt the interior plastic trim panels on the right-hand B-Pillar to expose the mounting hardware for the Linkage/PTO/Light module.

   Disconnect the Module

   Unplug the electrical connectors from the rear of the keypad. Note the routing of the LIN bus and power harnesses.

   Remove the Faulty Module

   Unclip or unscrew the keypad module from the B-Pillar console housing.

   Install the New Module

   Seat the replacement module into the console and secure it with the original hardware.

   Reconnect Wiring

   Plug the electrical connectors back into the new module, ensuring the locking tabs click into place. Reinstall the B-Pillar trim.

   Restore Power

   Reconnect the tractor's battery.

   Program the New Module

   Connect the Massey Ferguson EDT to the tractor's diagnostic port. The new module will be blank and must be programmed with the specific tractor's configuration (PTO speed options, linkage parameters, and lighting setup) to function correctly.
