Massey Ferguson 1B.X.05 – Linkage/PTO/Light Module: Internal Issue With The Linkage/PTO/Light Module On The B-Pillar
Issue description
Hardware or internal logic failure within the electronic keypad/module located on the right-hand B-pillar of the tractor cab. This module is responsible for controlling the electronic linkage, PTO (Power Take-Off) speeds/engagement, and working lights.

Check the cause
Check LIN BUS communication between the Linkage/PTO/Light Module and the B-Pillar Button Panel
Inspect CAN BUS wiring to the B-Pillar module for chafed wires or loose pins at the connector
Ensure the module is receiving proper voltage (power and ground), as a voltage drop can cause internal logic faults
Verify that the module hasn't lost its stored configuration (a dealer may need to attempt a re-flash or configuration reset using the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool)
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes during removal.
Access the Module
Locate the Linkage/PTO/Light Module on the right-hand B-pillar inside the cab.
Remove Trim
Carefully pry away the B-pillar plastic trim/cowl to expose the mounting screws for the keypad panel.
Disconnect Harnesses
Unscrew the module and carefully pull it forward. Disconnect the main electrical harness (containing CAN/LIN and power lines) from the back of the unit.
Install Replacement
Connect the wiring harness to the new or remanufactured B-pillar module.
Reassemble
Secure the module to the B-pillar and snap the trim back into place.
Reconnect Battery & Calibrate
Reconnect the battery. Because this module stores configuration data for the hitch and PTO, a new module will likely require programming/calibration using the AGCO dealer diagnostic tool to pair it with the tractor's main ECU.
Clear Codes
Clear the 1B.X.05 fault code and test the PTO, linkage lift/lower, and lighting functions.

Specific AGCO part numbers vary heavily by exact tractor trim. New OEM modules require dealer programming. Specialized repairers (such as Ilgenfritz Mechatronics) offer rebuild services (Internal Ref: 5021030011 / 5021030007). If replacing with a used part, ensure it comes from a tractor with the exact same PTO and linkage options.
