Massey Ferguson 3.00.80 – TECU (Tractor Electronic Control Unit) / Armrest Autotronic 5: Issue With 10 Volt Supply From TECU Module (TECU)
Issue description
The 10-volt reference voltage output from the control module is either missing, out of its expected range, or experiencing a fault (such as a short circuit to ground or to 12V).

Check the cause
Verify the active code (AR 01 or 03.01.80) on the instrument panel or via a diagnostic tool.
Inspect the X104 connector on the Autotronic 5 TECU for loose pins, corrosion, or moisture.
Disconnect armrest switches (e.g., FingerTIP X307, X308) and joystick one by one to check if the 10V supply returns, indicating a shorted peripheral.
Test the 10V reference circuit wiring harness with a multimeter for a short to ground (0V) or a short to battery voltage (12V).
Measure the voltage directly at the 10V output pin on the TECU with the harness unplugged to determine if the module has failed internally.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes.
Disassemble armrest console
Disassemble the right-hand armrest console to access the Autotronic 5 TECU and its wiring harness.
Replace faulty peripheral
If a specific switch or joystick was identified as shorted during the diagnostic phase, replace the faulty peripheral component.
Repair wiring harness
Repair any chafed or pinched wires in the armrest harness that may be shorting the 10V circuit to the chassis.
Remove dead TECU
If the TECU itself is confirmed dead (no 10V output with a good harness), unbolt the Autotronic 5 module and disconnect all harness plugs (X104, etc.).
Install replacement TECU
Install the replacement Autotronic 5 TECU and reconnect the harnesses.
Reconnect battery
Reconnect the battery.
Calibrate new module
A new Autotronic 5 module will require dealer-level software to program the VIN, configure the ISO address, and calibrate the transmission (e.g., Dyna-4, Dyna-6, Dyna-VT) and armrest controls.
