Check the cause

  1. Perform a diagnostic scan to read the ECU failure memory and check for secondary codes (like AR 01 or AR 02) indicating a 10V supply issue or CAN bus communication error.

  2. Verify power and ground by checking the main battery positive terminal contacts and the earth (ground) connections to the TECU.

  3. Inspect the wiring harnesses connected to the TECU (pillar, armrest, and transmission harnesses) for chafed wires, short circuits to ground (0V), or shorts to power (12V).

  4. Disconnect the TECU and inspect the 30-way connectors and Deutsch pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-out pins.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery isolator / negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Access the TECU

Locate the TECU module. Depending on the tractor series, it is typically located under the right-hand armrest console or behind the right-hand cab pillar trim.

  3. Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

If the diagnostic checks revealed a damaged harness or corroded connector, repair the wiring or replace the damaged Deutsch pins/connectors. Reconnect and test before replacing the module.

  4. Replace the TECU

If the wiring is intact and the module is internally failed, unbolt the TECU mounting hardware and disconnect the harness connectors. Install the new TECU module.

  5. Programming and Calibration

Connect an AGCO-approved diagnostic tool to copy the vehicle configurations/parameters to the new control unit, calibrate the armrest/suspension components, and clear the active fault codes.
