Massey Ferguson 3.01.8C – TECU: Calibration Issue For Valve Switch 4 (TECU)
Issue description
The electronic control system has detected that the signal from the auxiliary remote valve switch 4 (typically a fingertip control on the armrest) has lost its calibration parameters or is operating outside of its calibrated range.

Check the cause
Check for Accompanying Codes: Look for related electrical fault codes on the same circuit (e.g., 03.01.8A for High Amp Draw or 03.01.8B for High Voltage). If present, you have a hard electrical short rather than just a calibration issue.
Inspect the Switch: Physically inspect Auxiliary Valve Switch 4 (fingertip control) on the armrest for sticking, physical damage, or debris preventing full travel.
Harness Check: Verify the wiring harness connections between the armrest console and the TECU to ensure there is no intermittent connection causing the module to lose the switch's position reference.
Repair steps
Turn on the tractor ignition to power the Datatronic/ISOBUS terminal.
Navigate to the hydraulic/spool valve settings menu on the terminal.
Unlock the remote control valves.
Ensure the remote control valve lock button is disengaged.
Initiate the calibration sequence for the auxiliary valves.
This often requires a dealer diagnostic tool like the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) if it cannot be done via the in-cab terminal.
Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle Valve Switch 4 through its full range of motion.
Cycle fully forward, neutral, fully backward, and float if applicable so the TECU can relearn the potentiometer voltage limits.
Save the calibration and cycle the tractor's key power.
Replace the switch assembly if calibration fails.
If the calibration fails to save or the code immediately returns, the potentiometer inside the fingertip switch is faulty and the switch assembly must be replaced, followed by a repeat of this calibration process.
