3.02.96

Massey Ferguson 3.02.96 – TECU: Calibration Issue For Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

Issue description

The electronic switch controlling the 6th auxiliary hydraulic spool valve is out of its calibrated range or has failed its calibration routine. The system cannot accurately determine the physical position of the switch, which disables or limits the function of that specific remote valve to prevent unintended hydraulic operation.

Check the cause

  1. Check for related codes such as 03.X.95 (High Voltage On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6), which indicates a short circuit or broken ground wire rather than just a calibration loss.

  2. Inspect Valve Switch 6 (located on the armrest console, joystick, or rear fender) for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing full travel.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness connecting the switch to the TECU for loose pins, moisture, or corrosion in the connector.

Repair steps

  1. Attempt Re-calibration

Attempt a software calibration of the auxiliary spool valves via the Datatronic terminal hydraulic settings menu or using the Massey Ferguson Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) via a dealer laptop.

  2. Test the Switch

If the calibration fails, use a multimeter to test the potentiometer/signal output of Valve Switch 6 through its full range of motion. Look for dead spots or erratic voltage drops.

  3. Replace the Switch

If the switch fails the electrical test or physically binds, remove the console trim, disconnect the switch harness, and install a replacement switch.

  4. Final Calibration & Code Clearing

After installing a new switch, run the calibration procedure again so the TECU can learn the new switch's minimum and maximum voltage values. Clear the fault codes from the TECU memory.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Auxiliary Spool Valve Switch / Remote Control Valve Switch

Specific part numbers vary heavily based on configuration; requires serial number lookup. Ensure you are replacing the switch assigned to 'Valve 6' and do not mix up color-coded or numbered switch caps.
