3.03.94

Massey Ferguson 3.03.94 – TECU: High Amp Draw On Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 (TECU)

Issue description

This code indicates that the electronic control system has detected an abnormally high electrical current (amperage) draw on the circuit responsible for Auxiliary Valve Switch 6. This is typically caused by a short circuit to ground in the wiring harness or an internal short within the switch itself.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness running from the TECU to Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinched harnesses

  2. Disconnect the switch and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or bent pins

  3. Test the circuit with a multimeter for a short to ground (0V short circuit)

  4. Test the internal resistance of Auxiliary Valve Switch 6 to see if it shows continuity where it shouldn't or has zero resistance across its operational contacts

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent further electrical damage during repair.

  2. Access the Switch

Remove the necessary trim panels on the armrest console or fender to access Auxiliary Valve Switch 6.

  3. Replace or Repair

If the wiring is damaged: Splice and repair the damaged section of the harness using OEM-approved heat-shrink connectors, or replace the affected harness section. If the switch is faulty: Unplug the connector, unclip/unscrew the faulty switch from its mounting bezel, and install the new replacement switch.

  4. Reassemble

Reconnect the wiring harness and reinstall all trim panels.

  5. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, and use the Massey Ferguson AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) or onboard dashboard diagnostic menu to clear the stored 03.00.94 fault code.

  6. Test

Operate Auxiliary Valve 6 to ensure the spool valve actuates correctly without triggering the code.
