Massey Ferguson E3361.03 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM): DEF Injector Voltage Issue
Issue description
The signal voltage from the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dosing injector is out of its normal operating range on the high side, indicating a short circuit to a 12V power source or an internal short within the injector itself.

Check the cause
Turn the ignition OFF, disconnect the DEF dosing unit harness connector, and inspect both connectors for damaged, bent, spread, broken, pushed out, or corroded pins.
Turn the ignition ON (engine OFF) and measure the voltage between the DEF dosing unit connector pin (harness side) and a known good ground. A reading greater than 10V-12V indicates a short-to-voltage in the wiring harness.
Trace the chassis wiring back to the ECU and look for rubbed-through wire insulation touching a power wire or the chassis.
Repair steps
Repair Wiring
If your diagnostic checks revealed a short to 12V in the harness, repair or replace the damaged section of the wiring harness.
Replace the DEF Injector
If the wiring harness tests perfectly fine (no shorts to power) and the connectors are clean, the internal solenoid/circuitry of the DEF Dosing Valve has failed and shorted out. You must replace the DEF Injector unit.
Reassembly
Install the new DEF injector into the exhaust aftertreatment mixer pipe and torque the mounting clamp/bolts to OEM spec. Reconnect the electrical harness and the DEF fluid supply line.
Clear Codes
Turn the key ON. Connect a diagnostic scan tool (such as JPRO or AGCO EDT) and clear the inactive fault codes.
Verification
Run a 'DEF Quantity Test' or 'DEF Dosing Valve Test' via the diagnostic tool to ensure the new injector is firing correctly and that the E3361.03 code does not return.
