Massey Ferguson 3361.14 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / Engine Module: DEF Injector Has Not Opened Or Closed As Expected.
Issue description
This indicates a mechanical or electrical failure at the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dosing valve. The system has detected that the injector is either stuck open, stuck closed, or failing to actuate properly when commanded to spray DEF into the exhaust stream for SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) emissions control.

Check the cause
Visually inspect for white DEF crystals around the injector nozzle and the exhaust pipe mating surface, which can physically block the injector.
Verify the quality of the DEF/AdBlue, as low-quality or contaminated fluid accelerates crystallization and injector damage.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the DEF injector for faults or a burnt-out solenoid coil (related to high/low resistance codes).
Verify that the DEF pump filter/strainer is not clogged, which could cause pressure issues mimicking a closed injector.
Repair steps
Preparation
Ensure the tractor is turned off, the key is removed, and the exhaust system/catalyzer has completely cooled down.
Access the injector
Locate the DEF injector module mounted on the exhaust SCR/catalyzer pipe.
Disconnect lines
Carefully unplug the electrical harness connector from the injector and disconnect the DEF fluid supply line. Have a rag ready and clean up any corrosive DEF spills immediately.
Remove the injector
Remove the mounting screws/fixing nuts securing the cover plate and the injector to the exhaust pipe, then pull the injector free.
Clean the port
Inspect the mounting port on the exhaust pipe and carefully scrape away any built-up white DEF crystals so the new injector seats flush.
Install new part
Install the new DEF injector using a new gasket/O-ring to prevent exhaust leaks. Torque the fixing nuts to OEM spec.
Reassembly
Reconnect the DEF fluid line and the electrical connector.
Clear codes and test
Use a diagnostic scan tool to clear the 003361.14 fault code from the Engine ECU and run a manual dosing test or forced regeneration to verify operation.
