The electronic control unit responsible for managing the transmission is receiving a voltage signal that is below the minimum required threshold to operate correctly.

   Check battery and alternator output (non-filtered and filtered signals) to rule out a failing alternator or weak battery

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the Transmission Control Module for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose grounds

   Check the main and secondary fuse boxes for blown fuses or failing relays that supply power to the TRANS module

   Verify transmission fluid levels and quality, as low fluid can cause overheating or poor operation that triggers secondary electrical faults

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during testing.

   Locate the Transmission Module

   The Autotronic/TRANS module is typically located under the right-hand side of the cab or integrated into the side-mounted control box, depending on the specific series.

   Test the Supply Circuit

   Disconnect the harness from the module. Reconnect the battery and turn the key to the ON position. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the power supply pins on the harness connector. It should read close to battery voltage (typically 12V+).

   Repair Wiring

   If the voltage at the connector is low, trace the circuit back to the fuse panel and battery to locate and repair the high resistance (corrosion, broken wire, or bad ground).

   Replace the Module

   If the wiring provides full voltage to the connector but the module still logs a "Low Supply Voltage" internal fault, the module itself has failed internally. Remove the mounting hardware, swap in the new module, and reconnect the harness.

   Calibration

   A new transmission control module will likely require initialization and calibration (programming) using a Massey Ferguson dealer diagnostic tool to sync with the tractor's CAN network.
