This indicates an electrical or mechanical mismatch involving the transmission's Range 2 engagement circuit.    Use a multimeter to test the resistance of the Range 2 Solenoid coil. Ensure it is not shorted to ground or showing an open circuit.

   Test the Range 2 Engaged Switch for proper continuity. It should change states (open/closed) when the transmission is manually shifted into Range 2.

   Verify transmission hydraulic oil levels and filter condition. Low pressure or a blocked filter can prevent the mechanical engagement that the switch is designed to monitor.

   Prepare tractor for service

   Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the transmission control valve block and the range switches, typically found on the side of the transmission housing.

   Disconnect electrical connectors
