Massey Ferguson 4332.11 – Engine ECU (EEM4): DEF Pump/Pressure Issue (SCR system ERROR: Pumped-Dosed quantities balance error)

Triggered when the engine monitoring system detects that the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) supply module's duty cycle does not correspond to the actual dosing quantity being injected into the exhaust. This indicates a restriction, blockage, or fluid issue.

   Inspect the DEF tank for contamination (dirt, diesel, or water) and ensure the fluid is a precise 32.5% urea solution.

   Visually inspect the heated DEF supply and return lines for kinks, rub points, or leaks. Check the O-rings at the quick connectors for nicks that could allow air ingress.

   Check the DEF supply module main filter/strainer for severe clogging or crystallization.

   Remove the DEF dosing valve from the exhaust and check the nozzle for severe urea crystallization blockages.

   Using a diagnostic tool (like AGCO EDT or JPRO), run a DEF Doser Pump Test, DEF Pressure System Test, and a DEF Quantity Test to monitor live pressure buildup and dosing spray patterns.

   Resolve Fluid Issues

   If the DEF is contaminated, drain the tank completely, flush the system with de-ionized water, and refill with fresh, high-quality DEF.

   Replace the Filter

   Replace the DEF supply module main filter, as a restricted filter will cause the pump duty cycle to spike.

   Clear Blockages

   If the DEF dosing valve is blocked with crystallized urea, clean the nozzle carefully with warm de-ionized water. If the valve is mechanically failed or permanently clogged, replace it.

   Clear Lines

   Ensure the DEF pressure line is entirely clear of blockages. Flush or replace the line if a hard blockage is found.

   Reset the ECU

   Save the error log, then erase the codes. Restart the Engine ECU.

   Validation Drive

   Run the tractor through a standard driving cycle to allow the SCR system to heat up and dose. If the fault returns, the DEF Supply Module (Pump) itself may have internal wear and require replacement.
