Check the cause
Visually inspect the sensor mounting on the exhaust pipe for looseness and ensure it is properly tightened.
Inspect the 2-pin electrical connector at the sensor for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture.
Use a multimeter to check the wiring harness between the sensor and the ECU for a broken wire (open circuit) or a short to the battery.
Test the sensor resistance; if the wiring is intact, the sensor itself has likely failed internally (open circuit) and requires replacement.
Repair steps
Locate the Sensor
Find the DOC inlet temperature sensor. It is threaded into the exhaust pipe as close as possible to the inlet of the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC).
Disconnect Power
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical spikes.
Disconnect the Sensor
Unplug the 2-pin electrical connector from the sensor harness.
Remove the Sensor
Carefully unscrew the temperature sensor from the exhaust pipe. (Note: Exhaust sensors can seize due to high heat; penetrating oil may be required before removal).
Install the New Sensor
Thread the new OEM sensor into the exhaust inlet and tighten it securely.
Reconnect
Plug the 2-pin connector back into the engine wiring harness.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key on, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the E4360.03 fault code from the ECU. Run the engine to verify the code does not return.
