Massey Ferguson 4363.02 – AGCO SISU POWER EEM4: SCR catalyst outlet gas temp sensor value implausible

The sensor located in the exhaust stream at the outlet of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system is reporting a temperature value to the controller that does not make logical sense compared to the engine's current operating state, or the signal is dropping out.

   Check for primary codes related to CAN communication loss (e.g., U1611/U1612) or sensor module supply voltage issues (e.g., FMI 3 or FMI 4 codes indicating a direct short to battery/ground). Troubleshoot wiring harness first if present.

   Inspect the physical mounting of the SCR Outlet Temperature Sensor. Check if the sensor is loose, tampered with, or open to the atmosphere, which would cause implausible temperature readings.

   Inspect the sensor pigtail and the main engine harness connector for chafing, corrosion, or backed-out pins that could cause an intermittent or erratic signal.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the SCR outlet temperature sensor, which is threaded into the exhaust stream piping directly at the outlet (downstream) of the SCR catalyst canister.

   Disconnect

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery. Disconnect the electrical connector for the SCR outlet temperature sensor.

   Removal

   Carefully unthread the sensor from the exhaust pipe. (Penetrating oil may be required if the sensor is seized due to high exhaust heat).

   Installation

   Apply a small amount of anti-seize to the threads of the new sensor (avoiding the sensor probe tip) and thread it into the exhaust pipe. Ensure proper fitment and tighten to OEM torque specifications.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery and use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) / WinEEM4 service tool to clear the inactive fault codes and verify the repair.
