Check the cause
Visually inspect the DOC Outlet Temperature Sensor mounting to ensure it is not loose and fits tightly in the exhaust pipe
Check the sensor for signs of tampering, physical damage, or being left open to the atmosphere
Perform a visual inspection for exhaust gas leaks before the DOC inlet, as leaks can cause erratic temperature readings at the outlet
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the sensor for chafing, melting, breaks, or shorts to ground/battery
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the ECU and exhaust sensors. Allow the exhaust system to cool completely.
Locate the Sensor
Locate the DOC Outlet Temperature Sensor on the exhaust aftertreatment assembly (downstream of the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst).
Inspect and Secure
If the sensor is simply loose, tighten it to the specified torque and clear the code.
Fix Exhaust Leaks
If an exhaust leak was found prior to the DOC, replace the necessary exhaust clamps or gaskets and retest.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the sensor is internally shorted or open, disconnect the sensor's electrical connector. Unthread the faulty sensor from the exhaust pipe.
Install New Sensor
Apply high-temperature anti-seize to the threads of the new sensor (if not pre-applied), thread it into the DOC outlet, and tighten securely. Reconnect the electrical harness.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the E4363.02 fault code from the ECU. Run the engine to verify the code does not return.
