Massey Ferguson E4376.05 – Engine ECU (AGCO SISU POWER EEM4): The DEF Reverse Flow Solenoid Valve Low Amps
Issue description
The system has detected an open circuit or abnormally low current draw on the low side of the DEF pump's direction (reversing) valve circuit. This valve is responsible for reversing the flow of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to purge the lines when the tractor is shut off.

Check the cause
Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 60 seconds, then turn it back on to see if the code clears or resets.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the DEF Supply Module (DEF pump) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.
Using a multimeter, check for an open circuit in the wiring harness between the Engine ECU (EEM4) and the DEF pump direction valve.
Measure the resistance of the DEF reverse flow solenoid valve itself to check for an internal open coil.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the ignition and wait at least 60 seconds. Note: The DEF system must complete its purge cycle before the battery is disconnected.
Disconnect Battery
Disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety and prevent ECU damage.
Locate the DEF Pump
Locate the DEF Supply Module (Bosch Denoxtronic 2.2 pump) on the machine.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic continuity test revealed a broken wire or damaged connector terminal on the low-side circuit, repair the harness and reconnect.
Replace DEF Pump (If Applicable)
The reverse flow solenoid valve is integrated into the DEF Supply Module. If the internal valve has failed, you must replace the entire DEF pump assembly. Disconnect the DEF fluid lines and electrical harness, unbolt the old pump, and install the new unit.
Reassembly
Reconnect the DEF lines, electrical connector, and the battery.
Clear Codes
Use an AGCO diagnostic service tool to clear the E4376.05 / SPN 4376 FMI 5 fault code and run a DEF system dosing/purge test to verify the repair.
