Issue description
ECU Main Relay 0 (or Main Relay 1) short circuit to GROUND / earth (-), preventing proper voltage from reaching the module.

Check the cause
Locate the ECU Main Relay: Identify Main Relay 1 (or 0) in the tractor's primary fuse/relay panel.
Inspect the Relay and Socket: Check for signs of melting, corrosion, or burning at the relay terminals and the fuse board socket.
Test for Short to Ground: Use a multimeter to test the relay's internal coil and contacts for a short to ground.
Harness Inspection: Check the wiring harness running from the ECU Main Relay to the Engine ECU. Look for chafing, pinched wires, or exposed copper that may be touching the tractor's chassis (earth).
Battery & Supply Voltage: Verify that the battery is fully charged and that the unswitched power supply to the relay socket is providing a healthy +12V.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on the electrical system to prevent further shorting.
Replace Faulty Relay
If the ECU Main Relay tests faulty (internally shorted to ground), remove it and replace it with a new OEM relay.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If the relay is healthy but the wiring harness is shorted, trace the specific wire from the relay output to the ECU. Splice and solder any damaged sections, and insulate them with heat-shrink tubing and protective loom.
Clean Contacts
Apply a specialized electrical contact cleaner to the relay socket to remove any corrosion.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, and use a compatible diagnostic service tool (like the WinEEM3/EEM4 Service Tool) to clear the E520202.04 fault code from the Engine ECU's memory.
