Massey Ferguson 520209.31 – Engine ECU: Error in the plausibility of the injection energizing time

The engine monitoring system has detected an implausible injection energizing time for the pilot, main, or post-injections. This means the time it takes for the injector solenoid to energize and open does not match the expected parameters programmed into the control unit.

   Inspect Injector Wiring: Check the injector solenoid valves and the engine wiring harness for defects, chafing, or short circuits.

   Verify Engine Speed Signal: Ensure the engine speed sensor signal is plausible, as an erratic speed signal can cause timing plausibility errors.

   ECU Swap Test: If the wiring and sensors are intact, check the ECU operation by temporarily swapping it with a known-good EEM3/EEM4 controller. If the fault is no longer active, the original ECU has failed.

   Harness & Injector Repair

   If diagnostic testing reveals a short or break in the injector wiring harness, repair or replace the affected harness section. If an injector solenoid is internally shorted, replace the affected fuel injector.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to the tractor.

   Save Engine Data

   Open the 'Diagnostic Test' page and select 'Save & Upload Engine Log' to save the engine data.

   Record IQA Codes

   Open the 'Calibration' tab and record the IQA (Injector Calibration) codes for later use.

   Deactivate Old ECU

   Navigate to 'Configuration' > 'Engine ECU Replacement' and follow the on-screen prompts to deactivate the old EEM4 unit.

   Power Off

   Turn the ignition OFF and wait 2 minutes for the power to completely cut off from the control units.

   Replace ECU

   Physically remove the old Engine ECU and install the new replacement unit.

   Activate New ECU

   Turn the ignition ON. The EDT will read the new serial number. Follow the remaining EDT prompts to activate the new ECU and write the saved IQA codes to the new module.
