Massey Ferguson E520210.12 – Engine ECU (EEM4): Problem With The Injector Timing (ECU)

Error in the plausibility of the start of energising angles. The engine monitoring system has detected an implausible start of energizing for the pilot, main, or post fuel injections.

   Inspect the wiring harness going to the injector solenoid valves for any shorts, breaks, or defects

   Verify the engine speed sensor and its connector for corrosion. Check resistance (approx. 450 Ohms +/- 20 Ohms at ambient temp) and verify alternating voltage when turning

   Inspect the pins on the EEM4 Engine ECU for possible oxidation or corrosion

   Perform an ECU swap test by temporarily installing a known-good EEM4 controller to check if the original ECU is defective

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

   Inspect and test wiring and sensor

   Locate the engine speed sensor and the injector wiring harness. Clean the connectors and test the wiring continuity and resistance as outlined in the diagnostic checks. Replace the speed sensor or repair the wiring harness if faults are found.

   Locate Engine ECU

   If the wiring and speed sensor are in good condition, locate the EEM4 Engine ECU.

   Clean ECU pins

   Disconnect the ECU harnesses and inspect the pins. Clean any oxidation using electrical contact cleaner. Reconnect and test the tractor.

   Perform ECU swap test

   If the code persists, perform the ECU swap test.

   Replace and program ECU

   If the test confirms a failed ECU, permanently replace the EEM4 Engine ECU and program/calibrate it to the tractor using the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) or WinEEM4 software.
