Massey Ferguson 520214.31 – AGCO SISU POWER EEM4: ECU internal fault 0107

Issue description

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected an internal hardware or software anomaly. The ECU continuously monitors the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) using known reference voltages. If the measured voltage ratio falls outside the expected parameters, the ECU flags this internal monitoring failure.

Check the cause

  1. Perform a system reset by turning the ignition off for a minimum of 60 seconds to allow the ECU to power down completely and reset, then turn it back on to see if the code clears.

  2. Ensure the tractor's battery voltage is stable and the charging system is operating correctly, as severe voltage spikes or drops can trigger false ADC monitoring errors.

  3. Look for other active fault codes (such as sensor supply voltage codes) that might be dragging down the internal 5V reference circuit and causing the ADC error.

  4. Verify the vehicle's main power switch is operating correctly and not interrupting power prematurely during the ECU's shutdown cycle.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the vehicle's battery.

  2. Locate the EEM4 Engine Control Unit on the engine block.

  3. Carefully disconnect the EEM4 controller's main wiring harness connectors.

Note: Do not perform electric welding on the machine without disconnecting these first, as it can cause this exact type of internal ECU damage.

  4. Unbolt and remove the defective EEM4 ECU.

  5. Install the replacement ECU and reconnect the main wiring harnesses.

  6. Reconnect the battery.

  7. Program the new ECU.

The new ECU will be blank or in a base state. You must connect the AGCO Service Tool (WinEEM3/4 or FenDias) via the CAN bus diagnostic port to flash the ECU with the correct software and engine maps for your specific tractor model.

Parts you might need
