   Verify that the battery voltage is stable and within specification to rule out low voltage, voltage spikes, or a failing alternator causing ECU processing errors

   Inspect the main engine wiring harness, ECU connectors, and engine ground straps for corrosion, moisture ingress in the ECU pins, or chafed wires

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to check for available software updates or patches, as reflashing the module can resolve internal logic errors

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery (negative terminal first) to prevent electrical shorts or voltage spikes during removal.

   Locate the ECU

   Locate the Engine ECU, which is typically mounted directly to the side of the engine block on vibration dampers.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Carefully release the locking levers on the multi-pin wiring harness connectors and unplug them from the ECU.

   Remove the Module

   Remove the mounting bolts securing the ECU to the engine bracket and remove the faulty unit.

   Install the New ECU

   Mount the replacement ECU and tighten the mounting bolts to the OEM torque specification (do not overtighten, as this can damage the vibration dampers).

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the wiring harnesses, ensuring the locking levers click fully into place. Reconnect the battery.

   Programming

   Connect the AGCO EDT diagnostic tool and flash the ECU with the correct software payload specific to the tractor's VIN/serial number and engine configuration.
