   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the fuel rail pressure control valve and the Engine ECU for physical damage, corrosion, or water ingress.

   With the ignition ON (engine off), use a multimeter to verify that the valve is receiving proper supply voltage (typically battery voltage, ~11–14V).

   Disconnect the ECU harness and the valve connector. Check the continuity of the control wire between the valve and the ECU, and test the harness for a short to ground or short to power.

   Disconnect the valve and measure the resistance across its coil terminals with a multimeter. Compare to the service manual specification (typically 2–30 ohms). A near-zero reading indicates an internal short.

   Use a diagnostic tool (such as the AGCO WinEEM5 Service Tool) to compare the commanded fuel rail pressure against the actual fuel rail pressure.

   Power Down

   Turn the ignition switch OFF and wait at least 20 seconds for the ECU to power down completely.

   Wiring Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed an open circuit or a short to ground in the harness, repair or replace the affected wiring section and connectors.

   If the wiring is intact but the valve failed the resistance test, replace the Fuel Rail Pressure Control Valve. Ensure the work area is completely clean, as common rail fuel systems are highly sensitive to contamination.

   Reconnect the fuel rail pressure control valve harness connector and ensure it clicks securely into place.
