Check the cause

  1. Check the MAF sensor for debris or contamination

  2. Inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness leading to the MAF sensor for any shorts, breaks, or corrosion

  3. Check for a clogged or excessively dirty air filter, which can restrict airflow and throw off sensor readings

  4. Inspect the air intake system for any vacuum leaks or unmetered air entering the system, which reduces the amount of air passing over the sensor

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the machine and open the engine cover.

  2. Locate the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on the engine's air intake system.

  3. Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the MAF sensor.

  4. Remove the fasteners securing the MAF sensor to the intake housing and pull the defective sensor out.

  5. Install the new OEM MAF sensor into the intake housing and secure it.

  6. Reconnect the electrical connector.

  7. Use a specialized Massey Ferguson/AGCO diagnostic tool to clear the DTC codes from the ECU.
