Massey Ferguson E521007.14 – Engine ECU: DEF Pressure Issue (ECU)

The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system is unable to build or stabilize the correct Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF / AdBlue) pressure because either the DEF pressure line or the dosing valve (injector) is physically blocked, often by crystallized DEF fluid or debris.

   Check the DEF tank for contamination (dirt, diesel, or water) and ensure the tank cap and breather are not blocked, which can cause a vacuum.

   Inspect the heated DEF supply and return lines for kinks, rub points, or damaged O-rings at the quick connectors.

   Check the DEF pump/supply module filter and strainer for clogs that restrict flow.

   Remove the DEF dosing valve from the exhaust and inspect the nozzle and the exhaust port for heavy white urea crystallization.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the DEF dosing module and exhaust pipe to prevent dirt from entering the SCR system.

   Disconnect Lines

   Carefully disconnect the electrical harness and the DEF supply line from the dosing valve.

   Clean Crystallization

   If crystallized DEF or AdBlue™ is present on the conduit fittings, you must thoroughly clean the DEF lines with warm water before reinstalling or installing new parts.

   Remove the Dosing Valve

   Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the dosing valve to the exhaust housing.

   Clear the Port

   Clean out any crystallized urea buildup inside the exhaust mounting port.

   Install New/Cleaned Valve

   Place the new (or ultrasonically cleaned) dosing module into its housing. Secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the DEF supply line (ensuring O-rings are intact) and plug in the electrical harness.

   Filter Replacement

   It is highly recommended to replace the DEF pump filter at this time to ensure unrestricted flow.

   Clear Codes & Test

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the E521007.14 code. Run a forced regeneration or DEF system pressure test to verify the pump builds pressure and the injector sprays correctly without leaks.
