E653.05

Massey Ferguson E653.05 – Engine ECU (AGCO SISU POWER EEM4): Injector Number 3 Low Amp Draw

Issue description

Check the cause

  1. Check the electrical connector at the cylinder #3 injector solenoid valve for defective, loose, or corroded pins.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness running between the Engine ECU and injector #3 for chafing, breaks, or an open circuit.

  3. Test the injector solenoid by measuring resistance with a multimeter or by performing an automated 'Run-Up test' using the AGCO SISU POWER EEM4 Service Tool via a PC.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Disconnect the battery. Thoroughly clean the area around injector #3 to prevent dirt from entering the engine block or fuel system.

  2. Disconnection

Disconnect the electrical harness from the injector.

  3. Marking

Before removing the injector, mark the position of the high-pressure connection tube with an industrial marker. Assembling it in a different position can result in micro-leaks.

  4. Removal

Remove the high-pressure fuel lines and the injector hold-down clamp, then extract the faulty injector.

  5. Installation

Install the new injector and connection tube. Torque the hold-down clamp and fuel lines to factory specifications.

  6. Reconnection

Reconnect the electrical harness and battery.

  7. ECU Calibration

Connect the AGCO Service Tool to the tractor. You must program the new injector's calibration code (IQA code) into the EEM4 ECU to prevent a secondary fault code (E653.13).

  8. Testing

Bleed the fuel system and test run the engine to ensure the code is cleared and there are no leaks.
