Check the cause
Attempt a manual recalibration of the rear hitch before replacing the module
Check if the module accepts and retains calibration, which indicates the issue was likely a voltage drop or software glitch
If the calibration aborts, fails to complete, or the code immediately returns upon restarting the tractor, suspect an internal hardware failure requiring module replacement
Repair steps
Start the tractor and ensure the engine is running at a minimum of 1600 RPM.
Ensure engine speed is sufficient for calibration.
Navigate to the Lower Hitch calibration screen on the tractor's display.
Access the calibration menu.
Press and hold the PROG (Program) key.
The screen will display "Hitch Lower ON".
Continue holding the key until the hitch lowers completely to define the low stop.
This sets the bottom limit of the hitch travel.
Once the hitch is fully lowered, press the PROG key again to advance to the next screen.
Proceed to the high stop calibration.
Follow the on-screen prompts to raise the hitch to define the high stop.
The system will automatically measure the position sensor signals and solenoid valve currents.
Save the calibration.
Note: Pressing the INCR or DECR keys during this process will abort the calibration.
Cycle the key.
If code 8.01.A0 returns, proceed to replace the Rear Hitch Module.
