   Check the battery voltage using a multimeter (a fully charged battery should read around 12.6V) and ensure the alternator and voltage regulator are functioning properly.

   Cycle the up/down switch to clear the safety lockout on the hitch to see if normal function resumes.

   Inspect the external multi-pin plug that routes through the cab floor (often located just behind the gear shift) to ensure pins are clean, free of corrosion, and connecting well.

   Check the hitch control fuses (commonly located below the PTO lever or in the main fuse box) to ensure none are blown.

   Go to the rear of the tractor and manually push in on the valve solenoid to test if the valve is functional, which isolates the issue to the wiring harness or the module.

   Resolve Power Supply Issues

   If the battery or alternator tested poorly, replace or recharge them to restore stable voltage to the tractor's CAN bus and modules.

   Clean Connections

   Disconnect the multi-pin cab floor connector, apply electrical contact cleaner, and securely tighten the screw collar. Clear the fault code using a compatible diagnostic tool.

   Replace the Module

   If wiring, fuses, and voltage supply are all intact but the code persists and the hitch remains unresponsive, the Rear Hitch Module has likely failed internally and must be replaced.

   Calibration

   If a new Rear Hitch Module is installed, it will not work out of the box. You must calibrate the hitch control module using a dealer diagnostic tool or a null adjustment tool to center the hitch valve and set the upper/lower limits.
