Issue description

The voltage signal from the right draft pin falls outside the normal operating range (e.g., failed low/open circuit or failed high/short circuit).

Check the cause

  1. Check the wire harness leading to the right draft pin for damaged wires, chafing, or shorts to ground/power.

  2. Inspect the connector at the right draft pin sensor for moisture intrusion or bent pins.

  3. Verify that the sensor is receiving its required 8.5V reference supply from the controller.

  4. Temporarily swap the left and right draft pin connections. If the fault code changes to the Left Draft Pin (e.g., 08.01.32), the sensor itself is definitively faulty. If the code remains on the right side, the issue is in the wiring harness or the HITCH controller.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Lower the rear hitch completely to remove all physical load and shear force from the lower link arms. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery.

  2. Removal

    Disconnect the electrical connector from the right draft pin sensor.

  3. Remove retaining hardware

    Remove the retaining hardware (locking bolt or snap ring) securing the right draft pin to the tractor's lower link arm bracket.

  4. Remove draft pin

    Support the lower link arm and slide the faulty draft pin out of the housing.

  5. Installation

    Clean the bore and install the new draft pin sensor, ensuring the alignment notch/flat is oriented correctly according to the bracket.

  6. Reinstall hardware and harness

    Reinstall the retaining hardware and reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the weather seal is fully seated.

  7. Calibration

    Perform a Hitch Controller Calibration procedure using the tractor's diagnostic interface or dashboard sequence so the HITCH controller can learn the new sensor's specific voltage under a 'no load' condition.
