Massey Ferguson A.10.25 – Hydraulic Control Module or Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Malfunction associated with the first external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve). This is most often triggered by an out-of-range value from the spool position sensor, a connection/wiring problem on the hydraulic valve solenoid, or a failure during the valve calibration process.

   Connect a compatible diagnostic tool to read specific sub-codes indicating an issue with the spool position sensor value or valve calibration

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 1 (at the rear remote stack or mid-mount block) for corrosion, damaged pins, or a loose connection on the solenoid

   Check the external mudguard switches for the hydraulics, as a signal voltage issue here can trigger valve faults

   Use the diagnostic tool to monitor the live voltage/percentage value of the spool position sensor while commanding the joystick to ensure it sweeps smoothly without dropping out

   Safety First

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, the implement is lowered to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure, and the battery is disconnected if you are repairing wiring.

   Access the Valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 1 on the hydraulic valve block.

   Clean and Reconnect

   Disconnect the electrical connector to the valve's solenoid and spool position sensor. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect. If the code was caused by a poor connection, this may resolve it.

   Replace Faulty Electrical Components

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor value is out of range, remove and replace the spool position sensor or the solenoid coil on Valve 1.

   Mechanical Repair (If Necessary)

   If the valve is mechanically sticking or leaking, remove the spool valve slice. Rebuild it using an OEM repair kit (replacing internal O-rings and seals) or replace the entire electric spool slice.

   Calibration

   After replacing the sensor, solenoid, or valve, you must use a diagnostic tool to perform a valve calibration procedure so the ECU learns the new spool center and end-travel positions.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the DTCs from the system and test the hydraulic remote operation.
