Check the cause

  1. Check the SCV Unlock Solenoid Coil: Electrical failures in the unlock solenoid coil are a known cause for the SCVs sporadically failing to unlock from the cab controls (often accompanied by a blinking red light).

  2. Inspect the SCV Filter: There is a small, thimble-sized filter located inside the SCV assembly. If this filter is not changed and becomes blocked, it can cause erratic electrical issues and trigger hydraulic fault codes.

  3. Wiring and Connections: Verify the wiring harness and connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 1 for any damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

Repair steps

  1. Connect a compatible diagnostic tool to the tractor to confirm the presence of code 0A.11.29.

Confirm the presence of code 0A.11.29.

  2. Locate External Hydraulic Valve 1 (SCV 1) at the rear hydraulic block of the tractor.

Locate SCV 1 at the rear hydraulic block.

  3. Inspect the wiring harness and connector plugging into the SCV 1 unlock solenoid. Clean the contacts if corrosion is present.

Clean the contacts if corrosion is present.

  4. Test the unlock solenoid coil for proper resistance. If the coil is burnt out or failing under load, replace the solenoid coil.

Replace the solenoid coil if it is burnt out or failing under load.

  5. If the electrical coil is functioning, remove the SCV housing cover to access the internal thimble-sized SCV filter.

Access the internal thimble-sized SCV filter.

  6. Remove the old filter. If it is blocked with debris, this is likely the cause of the fault. Install a new SCV filter.

Install a new SCV filter if the old one is blocked with debris.

  7. Reassemble the valve components.

    Reassemble the valve components.

  8. Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs. Test the hydraulic valve operation from the cab controls to ensure the SCV unlocks and operates smoothly without throwing the code again.

Clear the DTCs and test the hydraulic valve operation from the cab controls.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • SCV Unlock Solenoid Coil

Fitment: Mounts directly to the external hydraulic valve block.

  • SCV Internal Filter / Thimble Filter

Fitment: Located inside the SCV assembly.

  • External Hydraulic Valve 1 Assembly

    T2610-39031

Fitment: Complete replacement block if the internal spool or housing is irreparably damaged. (Note: OEM part numbers like T2610-39031 exist for compact models, but you will need to reference the specific Massey Ferguson parts catalog for your exact chassis serial number).
